The Evolution Approach to Mental Health
Rewiring the brain. Reclaiming the self.
I believe that the most powerful tool for change is a brain that understands itself. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with specialized training in neuropsychotherapy, my work lives at the intersection of biological science and human connection.
My journey into the Evolution Approach began with a simple observation: talk therapy is most effective when it respects how the brain actually processes information and stores experience. While my background is rooted in the systemic and social justice values of social work, my clinical focus is on the neuroscience of healing.

1
Mapping the Blueprint
We will identify your brain’s current "survival loops." These are the automatic thoughts and behaviors that were once protective but are now keeping you stuck. By targeting the roots, we will engage the specific systems (like the nervous system and the emotional brain) where your stress is actually stored.
2
Neuroplasticity
Next, we will look at deep-seated survival responses. We will unpack your thinking style. This is where the deep internal work happens. We reframe how you think, process, and respond in your the world. Your brain can change and grow at any age. By rewiring through new experiences, you will practice specific mental and emotional skills. This active practice reshapes the neural pathways that govern how you feel. Over time, you create new, healthier habits in your brain.
3
Moving from "What" to the "How"
Insight alone is not enough. Together, we will use actionable tools to transform your new, healthy patterns into your automatic default settings: Somatic Regulation Learn real-time techniques to calm your nervous system instantly Behavioral Architecture Build practical micro-habits and boundaries that stick. Experiential Rewiring Move past talk therapy to practice new emotional responses.
4
The Three Pillars of Assessment
We build your healing from the inside out using three powerful pillars. Biological: The Body We will start with your nervous system. True healing starts by rewiring your physical responses. Psychological: The Mind Next, we focus on your internal world. We will look at deep-seated survival responses and unpack your thinking style. This is where the deep internal work happens of reframing how you think and process the world. Social & Environmental: The World This pillar is my core differentiator. We design your outside world to support your inside world altering your environment so you can thrive.
Healing isn't just about feeling better; it’s about learning better.

Adults

A Space for Growth and Healing Mental health is not a fixed state, but a lifelong practice of human learning. Individual treatment offers a safe, neutral space to focus entirely on your needs with a provider who prioritizes acceptance, understanding, and zero judgment. Therapy is the collaborative process of uncovering the "blueprints" your mind has created over time. Together, we choose which blueprints to keep, which to renovate, and which to build entirely from scratch. Because healing is not just about feeling better—it is about learning better.
Specialized Areas of Support My practice provides tailored therapeutic interventions for individuals navigating a wide range of psychological and neurodevelopmental challenges: Mood & Anxiety: Depressive disorders, generalized anxiety, panic, and stress management. Trauma & Emotional Regulation: Trauma recovery, grief and loss, anger management, and impulse control. Neurodevelopmental Conditions: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Behavioral & Social Growth: Oppositional defiant disorder and social skills deficits.
Comprehensive, Collaborative Care True healing thrives when your healthcare support system works in harmony. I actively welcome and encourage open collaboration with your other providers to ensure a holistic approach to your wellness, including: Medical Specialists: Neurologists, Psychiatrists, and Developmental Pediatricians. Primary & Wellness Care: Primary Care Physicians, Dietitians, and Nutritionists.
Navigating Young Adulthood Stepping into adult responsibilities can be overwhelming, often triggering unexpected adjustments and emotional challenges. This specialized therapy offers a dedicated, pressure-free space for emerging adults to adapt, prosper, and achieve lifelong success. Our collaborative work focuses on: Safe Self-Expression: Providing a secure, non-judgmental environment to freely express complex emotions and thoughts. Targeted Mental Health Support: Identifying and defining underlying emotional and psychological issues. Goal Development: Formulating actionable steps to confidently meet modern challenges and build independence. Life-Stage Success: Fostering personal growth to excel in education, career choices, and meaningful relationships.
Children and Adolescents.

Nurturing Neuro-Inclusive Ecosystems for Children & Families As parents, our natural instinct is to steer our children along the path we feel is right for them. However, when concerns arise regarding their well-being, behaviors, emotions, education, or discipline, navigating that path alone can be overwhelming. Matching your child with the right therapist provides the vital support your entire family needs.
Honoring Your Child’s Unique "Operating System" True progress goes beyond traditional, isolated therapy for the child. My practice focuses on building Neuro-Inclusive Ecosystems by partnering directly with parents. Together, we will transform your home environment into a space that seamlessly supports your child’s unique "operating system." During critical developmental stages, communication and mutual understanding can become a weakness. My support centers on how your child or adolescent expresses themselves and how they seek to be understood by loved ones. Help begins by truly connecting with them, decoding what their forms of expression mean, and uncovering what they are experiencing in their interactions with others.
Comprehensive School and Educational Support School is a vital part of your child's daily life and development. I bring extensive, specialized experience in addressing school-related challenges, including: Educational Disabilities: Navigating special education needs and the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process. Behavioral Challenges: Managing and reshaping difficult school-related behaviors. Social-Emotional Deficits: Building the core emotional skills needed to thrive academically and socially.
Couples and Families
Cultivating Relational Co-Regulation for Couples & Families Every configuration of a couple and family network is profoundly important. When challenges arise, joining together with a relationship facilitator is the key to lasting change. I support families and couples in increasing communication, understanding each other's needs, and healing together through shared trauma and loss.

Becoming Each Other's Environmental Support At the core of my practice is the concept of Relational Co-Regulation. I help partners learn how to become each other’s primary "environmental support." By mastering this, you can create a safe, livable, and deeply shared space together—even when facing intense systemic pressures or identity-based stress. Therapy is not just a reactive tool for when a problem surfaces. I proactively support couples and families who want to: Navigate Transitions: Adapt smoothly to major life changes. Foster Growth: Cultivate deeper connections and grow together. Build Vision: Develop common goals and shared values for the future.
Mediation, Conflict Resolution, and Crisis Support When life changes cause deep hurt, I provide structured guidance to restore unity. I bring extensive experience helping families navigate complex and sensitive challenges, including: Separation & Divorce: Navigating uncoupling with mediation and healthy conflict resolution. Parenting Alignment: Resolving differences in parenting styles and child-rearing approaches. Youth & School Challenges: Addressing adolescent delinquency and school-related stress. Health & Wellness Limits: Managing the impact of major mental and physical disorders within the family unit.
